Well after quite a long hiatus I'm back!! Been in the midst of a pretty busy summer (a good thing!) with lots of family visits - a jaunt up to VA Beach to see Jack Johnson, Anne & Andy's wedding and very little surf other than some random days here & there. I've not posted largely because all I've wanted to write about has been the BP oil spill and I really don't want to turn my blog into a downer fest so instead I've just not written anything. "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all". So hopefully the end of the summer doldrums is upon us and now we can start talking about the tropical storm season since "Colin" has formed overnight. Although it has a long way to go and is just a newly formed tropical storm, it does look like it has potential to be a wave producer for us. In the picture below (stolen from wunderground.com) you can see that the current 5 day forecast has it passing between NC and Bermuda which most certainly means waves for us! I don't want to speculate too much right now but will definitely be keeping an eye on this one and hoping for waves and sunny skies (read NO landfall!!) Sorry for my leave of absence and I'll be back soon!
Keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Colin!
