Rad-iculousness!!

Got some sweet lightning photos from my house the other night!!
How rad is that?! Laura was none too happy with me when I was outside under the house shooting them - obviously I survived.

Today rounded out 3 days of fantastic surf! Andy, Stuart and I had a couple of super fun sessions at the pier complete with overhead reeling left hand waves with some odd rights sprinkled in here & there for good measure. I have to give Stuart a shout out here because he's only been surfing a couple of years and he's charging! He may not make every wave he takes off on but it's not for a lack of trying. Living at the beach means that he's got access to waves when they come up so that's been in his favor for learning but he's got huevos too and it's fun to watch! Andy and I cruised up the road a bit with Anne and Laura for a quick after work session and got a couple of super clean long lefts at dark - absolutely beautiful and super fun! We hit up the same spot the following morning for a few more ridiculously long beautiful lefts out by ourselves - beautiful blue skies glassy blue water and basically calm wind - perfect! Today was a day off for Laura and I so we hit the beach around 10:30 after sleeping in and were greeted by yet another day of beautiful fun conditions. I started out by paddling out my 10' SUP and caught some long clean rights - yeah you read that correctly - RIGHTS :D - after surfing almost nothing but lefts it was great to go right! The only problem with the SUP was that I was sitting down the beach away from the few other people in the water (I don't like to SUP in the same lineup with prone surfers because it can be a little dangerous and on the SUP I can dominate the lineup and it wouldn't make anyone happy if I'm taking all the good waves!) and the rights coming through were pretty far apart all the while I'm watching pretty consistent lefts pouring through just up the beach. Anyway I went in and switched out the SUP for Kevin's 6'4" Dewey Weber Retro Pig - this thing is a 70's style single fin that is an absolute blast - especially in the type of conditions we had today - it catches waves easily and FLIES!! It isn't necessarily the best maneuvering board but it's stable and fast and so fun to ride. Needless to say I had a blast and caught a bunch of good fun rides - the best of which were lefts but a few rights as well. Thanks to Laura for all the photos and the video - check her out in the photo below - nice huh?!! I'm a lucky dude :D!!
